Coming to a Starbucks Near You?
You can buy music at Starbucks, you can get iTunes at Starbucks, you can get connected at Starbucks, you can get caffeine-refueled at Starbucks. (Thanks to a Starbucks card that was a present from last Christmas, I replaced my broken coffee pot gratis.) And now (in Bahrain), you can hear about autism. AME Info reports:
Parents of autistic children initiated the ‘A Friendly Talk on Autism’ Campaign in Bahrain with the aim of creating awareness about autism and seeking support from the community.
Starbucks Zinj store hosted and participated in the discussion in an effort to educate Starbucks partners on how best to accommodate autistic children in the stores.
It’s always good to hear about a business seeking to open its doors to autistic children though (in all honesty) my son Charlie is not really the café-sitting type: He likes to be out and about, as we were yesterday while walking aroung Greenwich Village and lower Manhattan (where it seems there is at least one Starbucks on every block). Charlie did enjoy the rice krispie treat I got him when I was buying my coffee maker—personally I prefer to get my coffee here or here. Will the Autism Latte (Lautte) be next on the menu…….

At $3.50 for the smallest pumpkin latte, we will have $5 autism lattes. And what will be the flavor combinations?
And I’d buy it. I really would.

I’m wondering if Starbucks has any similar plans for its US stores?

It would be interesting. I would be absolutely ecstatic if a large corporation like Starbucks started raising awareness of autism.
