Doctor Charged with Involuntary Manslaughter in Death of Abubakar Tariq Nadama

by Kristina Chew, PhD on August 22nd, 2007

Dr. Roy Eugene Kerry has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Abubakar Tariq Nadama. Two years ago, the 5-year-old autistic boy went into cardiac arrest while undergoing chelation therapy in Dr. Kerry’s office at the Advanced Integrative Medicine Center in Portersville, Pennsylvania. Notes today’s WXPI News (Pittsburgh):

The receptionist at Kerry’s Greenville office said he was too busy treating patients to come to the phone.

One wonders what kind of “treatment” these other patients might be undergoing?

Let us hope it was not an IV push with Endrate. He does offer a range of quackery - most of it non-lethal, according to his entry as a DAN! healthcare practitioner.

The entire bio-med in autism community was upset by the tragedy of Abubakar Tariq Nadama’s death. Chelation therapists, too; because accidents are so rare in this branch of medicine.

In contrast: somewhere between 100,000 and 1,000,000 deaths a year happen in the US because of medical or pharmaceutical mistakes. It is extremely rare for those cases to be followed by prosecution, especially by manslaughter charges. It smells like persecution to me.

I see no use of quack-silver in Dr Kerry’s DAN! profile: what are you complaining about? Remember! Quackery IS lethal!
