Drip Drip Drip

by Kristina Chew, PhD on June 24th, 2008

Something tells me that Charlie would find this cephalopod shaped sink mesmerizing. It also bears more than a little resemblance to the spiral water slide at the pool, and reminds me of what draws Sue Rubin to look at the water running from the faucet in the film Autism Is a World. Water is best.

Oh, no-NO, NO, NO-we can NOT have that sink in our house.

I would love it, and Buddy Boy would NEVER be able to be coaxed out of the bathroom. It’s bad enough with a circa 1940’s plain porcelain one as it is.

Ever since he was a few months old, Buddy Boy loved water. When we would take him to the local mall (which had a fountain that rose and fell) he would want us to sit there all day. Didn’t matter that he couldn’t speak a word. When we dared leave the fountain, the whole mall knew. He still loves to watch it when we go there (and also gravitates to any water wherever we go).

It would maybe be kind of worth it if it promoted consistent and thorough handwashing……..maybe!

That is gorgeous! Charlie would have company…my son wouldn’t want to leave that sink either. He loves fossils.

What a great sink! It appeals to my inner science geek. I used a rock with cephalopod fossils for a doorstop for years. My students loved it.

Heh. I remember when we were moving when I was about 7, that I’d turned the water faucet on before my parents finally got me to go to the car to leave, and it ended up flooding the sink and spilling onto the floor.

But yeah, spirals, especially the Golden Spiral, have been my main focus the last five years or so. Water of course is always great. It was even neater when I finally figured out that it’s good to drink, too. ;-)

Oooh! I want one. As an architect, the nautilus is the idea and the perfect proportions and shape.

Ive 4 sons ( 7 year old diagnosed with Aspergers and ADHD, 4 year old diagnosed with plain old fashioned Autism and 18 month old currently under assessment for Autism) - last bubs is only 4 months!!
I had to copy and paste that picture of the sink onto my desktop - older 2 guys love, love, love it!! But to be honest, so do I!!
