How do you make a dream come true?

by Kristina Chew, PhD on September 24th, 2006

“I believe that you need to let a kid dream, just like any other kid, then look at that dream and see how we can make that come true to the extent possible.”

So Kim Lett, a transition specialist, is quoted as saying in an article about needing to plan for special needs students after high school in today’s The Free Lance-Star.

Often when I have seen the word “dream” in connection with autism, it is in reference to the parents—-Lett’s words remind us that our kids need to dream, and we need to help them be the best they can be and attain those dreams.
