Things were off-kilter in my household due to Charlie (my autistic son who has autism) having half-days of school from Tuesday through Friday (for parent-teacher conferences; he did not have one, as his classroom is on a different schedule). The weather also became fall-like, with a rather abrupt change in the sensory world. “School tomorrow, school today!” Charlie told me with a smile as he settled down to sleep and I remembered how I used to look forward to Monday to when I was Charlie’s age.
And I think I still do.
