Autism Vox

Last Week’s Top Posts

by Kristina Chew, PhD on October 15th, 2007

There were no celebrity autism mother TV appearances last week and things were somewhat “normal” (a rather loaded word here, as regards autism and disability: what is “normal”……), though sobering.

Things were off-kilter in my household due to Charlie (my autistic son who has autism) having half-days of school from Tuesday through Friday (for parent-teacher conferences; he did not have one, as his classroom is on a different schedule). The weather also became fall-like, with a rather abrupt change in the sensory world. “School tomorrow, school today!” Charlie told me with a smile as he settled down to sleep and I remembered how I used to look forward to Monday to when I was Charlie’s age.

And I think I still do.
