Silence about Katherine McCarron

by Kristina Chew, PhD on June 9th, 2006

The day after autism mother Dr. Karen McCarron entered a plea of “not guilty” regarding the killing of her three-year-old autistic daughter, Katherine, Autism Speaks (”the largest single organization devoted to autism in the nation”) notes these events as being “In the News”:

But still no reference to the death of Katherine McCarron.

She will not be forgotten here.

“Autism Speaks” is (so far) failing to speak for me or my family. I hope that changes.

I do, too. They might “speak” but “listening” seems far off.

    Hi Kristina….

Re: the listening still being far off.

There is a reason for that.

They don’t want to listen. If they did, they’d have done so by now… they’ve had all the chances in the world. I think it’s fairly safe to assume that they do not want to listen.

    Some advocacy organisation, eh?
