Who stole Jason Wyatt’s bike?

by Kristina Chew, PhD on July 29th, 2006

14-year-old Jason Wyatt, who is autistic, has no school to go to, as I posted on July 20th. And now, thieves have stolen the blue bicycle he had just received through a charity on July 7th, as reported in today’s Norwich Evening News 24. Says Jason’s father, Kevin Wyatt:

“He is frustrated and shocked and does not want to talk about it. He is not in a good mood. The bike gave him a bit of happiness and now that has been taken away. It is like someone coming on Christmas Eve and stealing children’s presents. He loved his bike. It gave him independence and he was looking forward to getting a job as a paperboy to earn some more money.”

Charlie loves his yellow bike—he just zoomed off on a ride with his dad—he would feel just like Jason does now if someone stole his bike.

Jason, who lives in Hellesdon in the UK, hopes to get a job as a paperboy with his new bike. […]
