Zachary, Hunter and Nicholas
Zachary, Hunter, and Nicholas Gaston are six-year-old triplets; all three are autistic. Today’s ABC News profiles their family and has a video. Zachary can speak, Nicholas cannot (yet), and Hunter is “sort of in the middle of the three.” Their parents, Lynn and Randy Gaston, sold their house to pay for their sons’ therapies, which can total around $200,000 per year. It’s not easy, as both parents indicate—
“You want the best thing they could ever possibly get. I mean, of course, I have the highest aspirations for them still,” says Randy.
“I haven’t given up my dreams for them. I haven’t given up that Nicholas will speak. I mean, you can’t give up, you just can’t,” adds Lynn.
You can’t and the Gastons (who live in Maryland and were profiled in the June 3rd Washington Post, and their three sons especially, show how life raising autistic children is not easy, but you can still be on the up and up.

Covering therapies is difficult. That is one reason we sold our larger house and live in a tiny house in the city. Medical and therapies will break the bank in no time. Thanks for sharing about this family.
